I can't fully express to you the deep joy I instantaneously felt upon walking into my new client's workspace and seeing two giant user journey maps taped up to the wall in all of their Post-it Note glory.
I was told that they had just learned how to create these journey maps only days before. Furthermore, and if I may be a bit boastful, they also said they were inspired to kickstart this customer-centred effort after seeing my CV and hearing me mention my love for Jeff Patton's User Story Mapping book. I strongly encourage anyone in Product, UX, CX, Delivery, etc to read it if you haven’t already.
Seeing their happy (and pain) paths splayed out on the wall in the wondrous bouquet of sticky note colours told me that they were serious about embracing this ‘new’ world of user experience led design.
